So yesterday at work we had finished filling a tanker with waste water, and we needed to exchange tankers. Whoever parked the tanker originally, did not compensate for being on a hill beside some power poles. This led to some problems. For starters, when the driver got there to retrieve the tanker, we discovered one of the blocks was collapsed and the trailer was leaning a bit. He initially did not even want to try to get under the trailer since his truck had no air ride, but was prodded by his boss to do it anyway. Every time he touched the tanker, it moved closer to the pole. Eventually he had to call another driver, but before he got there, it got quite close to the poles.

No air ride suspension on a day cab hauler? That’s really uncommon for anything made in the last 10-15 years. I mean it happens, but then those same people also do solid mount passenger seats, no radio (not even speakers where you could put in your own, cheap ass 10spd, etc). Somebody’s purchasing department hates their drivers. Oof.

The first truck was a 90's Mack, so it was older. And judging by the headache rack and mud, I think it was usually used for logs.

you work in waste management? what a shitty job. Sorry for the pun.

Not exactly. We do environmental cleanup, like gas station storage tank leaks and such. So while it is waste water, it’s full of fuel.

That makes more sense. I always got a kick out of the guys that ordered Hendrickson R solid beams w/bronze bushings and then put 5th wheels on them. So little compliance and so much suffering...

I’m an ME, but pretty much - tough college existence, hard work, and decent pay...the life of an engineer.

Oh, an
un
civil engineer... I thought I wanted to be an ME, but the other students were so competitive that I wimped out and just majored in math.
